A Typical
Driller's Intercom system consists of
- Driller’s station,
EExd, with microphone, floor switch (or knee switch) & a
station selector, allowing the driller to communicate with
other stations without leaving his station.
- Derrickman’s station,
EExd, allowing the derrickman to page and talk, hands-free
directly to the driller & vice versa.
- EExd stations, each
with speaker, microphone, station selector and hands free
operation, to allow the operator to select and page any of
the other stations.
- Safe area stations,
each with a speaker, a microphone and station selector to
allow the operator to select and page any of the other
stations.
- ‘Hub’ Processor Unit,
housed in a stainless steel enclosure, which must be
installed in a ‘safe area’. A hazardous area version is
available.
The system is
fully flexible:
- The driller can talk to any
single station
- Any single station can page
and talk to any other station
- Conference calls between all
stations
System
Expansion
The system is suitable for expansion.
All systems and component
equipment is designed and manufactured to operate in Zone 1
areas as required.
